Rules and Regulations for the Swimming Pool

DEFINITIONS:

"Association Board": the Claremont Home Owners Association.

"Maintenance Company": refers to the pool maintenance company hired by the Association (as identified on the signage posted at the pool).

"Association Manager": refers to C. Dan Joyner Property Management (864.242.4466).

"Resident": every person that holds a current membership in the Association as described in the Claremont Declaration of Covenants and Restrictions.

 

  1. GENERAL

    1. The physical street address of the Claremont clubhouse and pool is 2 Chamblee Boulevard.
    2. All Residents and their guests shall abide by these rules and regulations and those posted at the pool area.
    3. The Association will not be responsible for loss or damage to personal property on or within the area of the Association property.   It is required that all Residents and their guests protect the Clubhouse, Pool house, pool and pool deck property (fencing, chairs, tables, pool equipment, etc.). Any property damaged due to willful intent or negligence by a Resident or guest will be repaired or replaced by the Association at its discretion and paid for by the responsible party.
    4. No one, other than the Association Board, Association Manager, and Maintenance Company shall be permitted in the Pump Room and Chemical Storage Room located in the Pool house, or to operate any of the pool equipment 0ighting, valves, vacuums, pumps, chemicals, etc.), unless requested to do so by the Board, Association Manager, or Maintenance Company.
    5. Members and guests shall drive slowly and carefully in the parking area, and all motor vehicles and bicycles shall be parked in areas as designated.
    6. No rollerblading, skating, skateboarding or bicycle riding is permitted within the fenced pool deck area.
    7. Loud, abusive, offensive language or excessive noise (music or otherwise) will not be tolerated. Residents or guests using loud or abusive language or profanity will be asked to leave the premises.
    8. Pool maintenance is provided 3 days a week during the swim season. In the case of an emergency pool maintenance issue, contact the Maintenance Company at the phone number posted on the pool signage. For all other maintenance or repair issues, notify the Association Manager who will then contact the appropriate party.
    9. Complaints or concerns about the operation and condition of the pool and pool deck area should be communicated to the Association Manager or Association Board.
    10. Residents are urged to discuss these rules and regulations with their children and guests.
    11. These rules and regulations may be revised by the Association Board as the need arises.
  2. ACCESS

    1. Residents will be provided a pool gate key that will open both gates to the pool and the playground area.  For the sake of community safety and security, each Resident is responsible for the safekeeping of its pool key, and shall not loan the key to anyone.
    2. Access should not be given to anyone trying to enter the pool unless proper identification is given.
    3. The pool gates are to remain locked at all times for child safety and security purposes.
    4. The playground gate should remain locked for safety purposes.
    5. The men's and women's restrooms in the Pool house should remain unlocked at all times.
    6. The pool may not be exclusively reserved for special events; therefore, it is accessible to all Residents and their guests during regular hours of operation.
  3. POOL HOURS

    1. Pool hours may vary throughout the swimming season. Generally, the regular hours of operation of the pool will be 8 AM to Sunset daily, from mid-May to mid-September.
    2. The pool will be closed when necessary for inclement weather and for maintenance operations at the discretion of the Association Board, Association Manager, or Maintenance Company.
  4. GUESTS USING THE POOL

    1. Residents must accompany their guests in the use of the pool facilities unless prior approval has been given by the Association Board.
    2. In order to keep the pool from becoming overcrowded, Residents are asked to use discretion in the number and frequency of invited guests. If a Resident's guests become disruptive, the Association Board has the authority to have the guests leave the pool.
    3. In the event a Resident is found violating its guest privileges, the Association has the authority to suspend the Resident's pool access for up to one year. Repeated violations are subject to additional penalties at the discretion of the Association.
  5. USE OF POOL AND PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITY

    1. There is no lifeguard on duty. Residents and guests, including children, shall use the pool at their own risk.
    2. Adult supervision (18 years of age or older) will be required for all children under 13 years of age except when a parent or guardian has given written permission for someone 13 years or older to supervise such a child.
    3. Children 3 years and younger may enter the water only when accompanied by an adult.
    4. Parents are cautioned that water wings, life preservers, and other flotation devices on children who cannot swim are not fail-safe and that these children still need close adult supervision.
    5. There will be adult-only swim time for persons 18 years of age and older during the last 10 minutes of each hour. Older teenagers may not use the pool for games during adult swim. Children under the age of 3 may accompany an adult in the water during adult swim.
    6. Chairs and tables are not allowed in the pool or the beach entry area of the pool.
    7. Each person using the pool is required to help keep the pool and pool deck clean, neat. and orderly. Deposit all trash, soft drinks cans, etc., in the trash cans provided.
    8. When leaving the pool and playground area: (1) remove all personal belongings; (2) kid's toys; (3) return items to their original placement; (4) place umbrellas in the down position; (5) place all trash in the trash cans; (6) lock pool gates.
  6. HEALTH & SAFETY

    1. A first aid kit is located inside the women's restroom in the Pool house.
    2. A telephone for emergency 911 calls is mounted on the wall under the clubhouse porch.
    3. Admission may be denied, at the discretion of the Association Board to anyone with skin abrasions, colds, inflamed eyes, infections, or wearing bandages.
    4. All diapered infants must wear rubber or plastic pants or swim diapers. Cooperation of all members is appreciated because of health regulations.
    5. Smoking is not allowed at the pool and within 50 feet of the fenced pool deck area and playground.
    6. No Pets are allowed within the fenced pool deck area and playground.
    7. Persons entering the pool area must wear proper family-friendly swimming attire.
    8. No running, pushing, fighting, or causing undue disturbances in the pool or at the pool deck area.
    9. Glass containers of any kind are not allowed in the pool area.
    10. Intoxicated individuals will be asked to leave the pool area.
  7. POOL RENTAL

    1. The pool may not be exclusively reserved for special events. Any event involving more than 10 non-residents requires an Amenity Area Reservation Request which must be submitted to the Association Manager at least 2 weeks prior to the event. The request must be approved by the Association Board. Upon approval, a notice of the event will be emailed to all residents.
    2. The Association Board or Association Manager has the right to refuse events which may interfere with the simultaneous use of other amenity areas, disrupt the use of the pool by other residents, or cause an undue burden on the amenity facilities.
  8. Claremont Pool Rules related to COVID-19

Use the pool at your own risk of exposure to COVID-19 and other communicable viruses and diseases. If you don't feel comfortable using the pool for any reason, then don't use the pool.

By entering and using the facilities you agree to take all responsibility for your own health and for the health of your children and other immediate family members.  The Association makes no assurance regarding the cleanliness and sanitation of the facilities. By using the facilities, you may become sick, contract the COVID-19 virus or infect others.

If you are ill or have any symptoms (fever, dry cough, body aches, chills, incontinence, shortness of breath) you may not access the facilities and may be asked to leave.

Please be sure to follow CDC Guidelines with respect to Covid-19 while using the Clubhouse, Pool, and Playground areas

A violation of any pool rule may result in a minimum fine of $50 per occurrence.
